Homemade Cinnamon Acne Mask

It wouldn't be an exaggeration if I say acne is one of the top few things that can ruin my day. It takes someone with a bad history of acne to know the struggle it takes to see it every morning and of course to deal with the people who comment on it. And the worst of it all is treating it!

Let me share with you all a cinnamon face mask that could be your acne's number one enemy! This mask could be a bit powerful for some skin types, so it's better to spot treat first than apply on full face if you have sensitive skin.

Ingredients

1. Gram flour (1 teaspoon)

♡ Contains zinc which fights acne
♡ Exfoliates dead skin
♡ Reduces oiliness
♡ Reduces skin inflammation
♡ Skin lightening and brightening

Gram or chick pea flour is widely known around the world for it's amazing skincare benefits. Whether you home-grind or purchase a packet from the local supermarket, this magic powder will definitely transform your skin on it's own.

2. Cinnamon powder (2 teaspoons)

♡ Antibacterial- kills acne causing bacteria
♡ Reduces redness
♡ Shrinks pimples

Ever felt your tongue tingle when you taste cinnamon? That's because it got this amazing skill of increasing your blood flow. Similarly, applying cinnamon on your skin will help the blood circulation by bringing oxygen on to the skin surface. And how does this help? It heals! Cinnamon dries out raw acne, fights the bacteria and heals the tissue faster than most other acne treatments.

3. Honey (2 teaspoons) OR fresh milk (2 teaspoons)

♡ Cinnamon directly applied on the skin can be harsh to many skin types, therefore honey or milk is essential to balance out the strength of it.
♡ Honey contains added antibacterial and antiseptic benefits.

Directions

  • Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
  • Apply on clean face and let it sit for 30 minutes.
  • Repeat twice a week for a month to see best results.
  • Storing the mask in the fridge can preserve it upto 2 weeks.

DISCLAIMER : the mask can naturally make your skin sting a bit but if it's noticeably an irritating or burning sensation it's quite likely you are allergic to it. If so wash it off and stop using it any further. If you still wish to give it a try please contact me so I could help you with better substitute ingredients.

Until next time,
