DIY Acne Toner Spray

If you take a basic skin care routine of a girl the most overlooked step will definitely be the toner. However, sadly toner is one of the most important steps that you need to treat your skin with. Toners are meant to balance your skin's pH, but a good toner will also carry a ton of antioxidant, hydrating and pore cleansing benefits in it. 

In this article I will be sharing an easy way to make your own toner at home. I have carefully chosen the ingredients so it adheres to any skin type; however this toner spray will work best on oily, acne prone skin. Ingredients

1. Green tea

2. Clementine (can be substituted with orange) 

♡ Eliminates blemish causing bacteria 

♡ Rich in Vitamin C 

♡ Boosts collagen production

♡ Citric acid gently balances the skin pH   

3. Tea Tree essential oil

♡ Antibacterial
♡ Antiinflammatory 
♡ Fights acne 
♡ Reduces excessive oil production 
♡ Detoxifying 
♡ Unclogs pores 

4. Ylang Ylang essential oil (optional) 

♡ Fights acne 

♡ Antibacterial 

♡ Elevates mood

♡ Relaxing and calming scent

♡ Hydrates skin 

♡ Fades wrinkles 

♡ Improves skin tone 

♡ Cleanses impurities 

How To 

• Brew a cup of natural green tea 

• Once the green tea cools down, squeeze a whole clementine or half an orange to it. 

• Add 4 drops of tea tree oil. 

• Add 3 drops of ylang ylang oil. 

• Mix well.

To use, add the mixture to a spray bottle or simply soak a cotton ball to apply on freshly cleansed face every night. 

Store the toner in a refrigerator to preserve it for at least 2 weeks!
