REVIEW: Viana Liquid Eyeliner

Among the few major cosmetic companies in Sri lanka Viana Cosmetics is one of the most well known out there. Along with lipsticks, nail polishes, powders, foundations and other products, one face line that caught my eyes (literally) was their liquid eyeliner collection. There are quite a few eyeliners already in their collection varying from gels, pencils, felt-tipped to a few different water-proof/non water-proof bottle liners. So today's review post is fully dedicated to one of those non-waterproof bottle eyeliners that retails for Rs 285.

Is the Viana Liquid Eyeliner hipogirl approved?

♡ First impression
  • First of all, the bottle could be easily fooled as a nail polish as it closely resembles to a nail polish container.
  • One of the best things I noticed is the amount of product in the bottle. It claims to contain 9ml which is insane as most others in the industry, for example their waterproof eyeliner, only contains 5.5 ml.
  • The brush is one of my favorite features of this eyeliner as it's quite fine and thin which is perfect for crisp and precise applications.
  • The container is full glass but compact enough to be easily carried in a makeup bag and it's pretty spill-proof.

♡ Results

I absolutely fell in love with how smoothly the brush glided on my lids. Like I mentioned the brush tip is very fine so it's perfect to draw very thin strokes or even a chic wing effortlessly.

The best thing about this eyeliner is the consistency of the liquid. One of the most annoying things about liquid eyeliners is how the brush strokes leave behind peaks of skin due to less pigmentation. This is so not the case with the Viana liquid eyeliner. I was amazed at how opaque the jet black color was. Plus it even blew my mind at how it dried into a matte finish instead of being shiny like most other eyeliners. Huge plus point!!

Before I talk about how long lasting the eyeliner is I have to quickly remind this eyeliner is by no means said to be water proof (if you prefer so check Viana's water-proof eyeliner here).
But on a positive note this means it can be easily washed off with your daily cleanser or face wash (I mean who doesn't want that?).

As for the durability, unless you accidentally rub off the liner with your fingers, it lasts through out the whole day with zero smudge!

♡ Pros
  • Very affordable!! Usually good quality liquid eyeliners in Sri lanka at least cost Rs 500 or more. But getting 9ml of a product for just Rs 285 is any makeup geeks' undying dream.
  • A bottle will last for months
  • Beautifully structured brush that will give you the perfect winged line. The thickness of the stroke can be easily controlled depending on the pressure you exert on the tip.
  • Fully pigmented and jet black (yas!)
  • Matte finish
  • Lasts throughout the whole day

♡ Cons
  • Takes a few minutes to dry. So if you don't won't a blob of black on your eyelid, you have to be extra careful to not blink hard or look up until it's dry.
Do I recommend it?

Well my girls obviously you guys already know my answer. YES YES YES! This eyeliner has become one of my favorite eyeliners! To be honest this is now my daily eyeliner for literally every occasion.

For a local cosmetic product (by any means i'm not degrading our local products) this eyeliner surpassed my love for even the most high-ended international eyeliners out there. As you all saw the pros overweighs the cons big-time and that says it all.

If you are a beginner to the whole eyeliner mania this product sure will help you. And if you are that person who loves a classic winged line this product SHOULD be in your makeup bag!

HIPOGIRL APPROVED !!!

Would you like me to review more Viana products?
Or would you prefer any other local product?

Until next time,
